PaveLEA is a cloud-based pavement analysis tool architected by a pavement engineer, for pavement engineers.
It’s designed to help practitioners model layered pavement systems, understand how they behave under load, and carry out pavement design in a way that is accessible, flexible, and grounded in engineering fundamentals.
Who Built PaveLEA
PaveLEA was developed by a practicing pavement engineer with a Masters of Pavement Technology, working within the Australian road infrastructure environment.
It was engineered by someone who:
Is an Australian Pavement Engineer
Designs pavements in real projects
Understands typical workflows
PaveLEA’s goal is to innovate and improve efficiency.
How Does PaveLEA calculate the pavement responses
PaveLEA uses the well established layered linear elastic theory to calculate the pavement responses.
Under the hood, it uses modern computational libraries to efficiently handle the mathematics involved in layered pavement analysis — allowing complex calculations to run quickly and reliably in the cloud.

PaveLEA’s Approach
PaveLEA is built with a different set of priorities:
Cloud-based - Accessible from anywhere, with no installation required
Practitioner-led - Designed by someone actively working in pavement engineering
Flexible and evolving - Able to adapt quickly based on feedback and emerging needs
PaveLEA is still evolving
PaveLEA is not presented as a finished, locked-down product, but as a tool that is:
Actively being refined
Continuously improved
Informed by real-world use
While care has been taken in development and validation, outputs should always be independently checked if used in design.
